Fiberglass
BENEFITS
- Low maintenance, low maintenance costs, low chemical usage.
- Quick installation.
- Gel coat is algae resistant.
- Non-porous surface means less heat, chemicals and water escaping.
DISADVANTAGES
- Gel coat needs to be replaced every 15 years.
- Limitation on sizes and designs.
- Higher installation costs.
Vinyl Pools
BENEFITS
- Low initial cost.
- Customizable design to benches, steps, overall shape, and size.
- Non-abrasive surface.
- Quick installation.
DISADVANTAGES
- Slightly higher lifetime cost – liner will need to replace around 7-10 years of install.
- Liner is sensitive to damage from sharp objects (dogs, branches, toys).
